Swan

This here is a swan, the largest fowl in the world! They average about four feet tall with a seven-foot wingspan. They come to this lake in Arkansas every November to raise the baby swans, eat corn and have their pictures taken. About Valentine’s Day every year, they head back to Iowa. I don't know why they go to Iowa! Maybe to eat corn and blend in with the hogs. I don't think I want to go to Iowa, although it looks like we will be going back to Arkansas.

Alex had his interview with the Board of Ordained Ministry in Conway, Arkansas, on the 11th, and they want him to show back up with a black robe in June for Annual Conference. Hmm, so now I start freaking out about going back to the place that I spent so many years getting away from. Come to think about it, I've been gone for 23 years, lived in five different states and have done everything from raising hogs to running a soup kitchen. Now God is calling me back to be a preacher's wife. Alex and I were talking yesterday about my calling and how it's being disguised as a wife of a Pastor. I have not even begun to get my head around most of this, so I guess it's best to just rest in where the Lord has me right now. I am like this swan, sitting heavy in the still water in which He has placed me. I am trying my wings, listening for where the Spirit is calling me to go. “But the Lord has become my stronghold, and my God the rock of my refuge.” Ps 94:22
