School's Closen!

I am constantly in awe of how this county closes school for the possibility of snow.  Now let me explain, spending over 10 years in Colorado where winter is at least 9 month's long and most of that will have snow cover, makes you laugh when schools are closing for 1-2 inches around here!  It didn't even really get falling until after 2 pm.   I'm going to say going off my measuring stick that I stuck into the snow at 5 pm that 2 inches anit crap!  Now tonight will be when the fun happens and we'll be able to lay in bed and listen to the sounds of the night.  Folks that gotta floor it to get up the little incline, horns blowing, which works as good as braken sometimes.  I remember one winter when I was still in high school, we had an ice storm and I learned to drive in that stuff and it taught me what not to do and to keep on doing things that worked.  Things that always work in this kind of weather is to leave early for where ever you gotta go and go slow.  Don't get up to the stop sign and then try to stop...test it out before you get there.  Most people around here that are from around here are the ones that need to stay at home!  They were the folks that flooded Wal-Mart and Krogers and bought up a month's worth of food that will go bad before they use it all.  They will be the ones we hear tonight while we lay in bed...flooren their 2 wheel drive trucks and laying on their horns cuz they can't stop.  Father, protect us for they know not what they do!
