Spacious Place

This is my cat Yazi doing what he loves the most next to eating...sleeping in the sun!  He's laying on the dog bed soaking up the rays.  Life is good for this cat!  He was an Easter present from Alex the 1st year we were in Colorado.  Now I have not gotten another Easer present since this cat so I'm wondering why that is?  I would love to be able to lay in the sun like this!

I ran my 3 miles outside for the 1st time this year.  It had to have gotten into the 40's today and I just couldn't help myself!  I got on all my coldwear and I looked fabulous while running out to the VA and back.  Dang hills!  I started out and got a good 500 feet down the road and just didn't know if I was going to be able to do it.  The treadmill has made me soft I guess, I wasn't use to making myself move, just picking up my feet.  I made it in 29.20 which is making me feel pretty darn good about 5K's that will be coming up this spring.  Got home and had to hit the inhaler so I could breathe.  I'm hoping to get use to the cold air again.

For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried.  You brought us into the net; you laid burdens on our backs; you let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a spacious place.  Psalms 66:10-12
This is so true for us...the testing that we are still going through with no job for me except weight watchers, the fire sure seems to burn hot.  But like silver the old gross stuff is being burned away and only the shinny remains, so that God 's face is reflected.  The spacious place is beginning to take shape in our lives as we trust and obey.  Now, don't get me wrong it hasn't been easy, but it hasn't made us miserable either (well too miserable anyway).  The friends we have made along the way will be kept for the rest of our lives.  Spacious place...yup, I like it a lot.  It has breathing room to spare and to share.

In addition to being boring, that's another thing I dislike about the treadmill - it's bad for your running; well, at least it's bad for my running.

Treadmills change a lot - particularly in the mechanics of my stride. It's almost like anti-running.

Anyway, that's just me. :-)

You are so right, I am hoping the weather holds so I can become normal again!
